Hi everyone,
as you might have heard, Open-Xchange is working on a new emerging standard for messaging on top of email - we call our variant "Chat Over IMAP" or "COI" in short.
We collaborate with Delta Chat in various ways:
* We contribute to the Android client.
* We cooperate on interoperability between COI and Delta Chat.
* We develop our own Flutter.io-based messaging client that uses Delta Chat Core: https://github.com/open-xchange/ox-talk and https://github.com/open-xchange/flutter-deltachat-core (both MPL-licensed).
You will find our current specification draft here:
https://github.com/coi-dev/coi-specs/blob/master/coi-client-spec.md
Note that server side specs will follow, as we plan to extend IMAP and SMTP for easing messaging over email. Generally, you will find more information at https://coi-dev.org and you can subscribe the COI developer mailing list by sending a mail to dev-join(a)coi-dev.org mailto:dev-join@coi-dev.org .
Now, to the actual topic of this message: we are hiring! We search for capable C and Rust developers who are willing to work fulltime on future Delta Chat Core topics. Please find attached the job details.
If you have any questions or feedback, please let me know!
Many thanks in advance,
yours
Robert

Hello,
I would suggest to load the Google Play description of Delta Chat on
Transifex before to release it. In this way we can translate it before
the official release and the users will find it already translated.
Thanks,
Enrico
hi there,
i'm happy to see an ukrainian webpage evolving :)
i've just prepared the page technically:
preview: https://deploy-preview-141--deltachat.netlify.com/uk/help
(the preview is not updated automatically on changes, it's just the
state "from now")
the header/footer cannot be modified in transifex, the translators can
add a commit to https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-pages/pull/141 or
just drop a note in the comment area of the pr :)
also just added lithuanian to the app, which is also evolving :)
best,
bjoern
Hello DeltaChat Team,
i`am only a user of DeltaChat, and some of my friends uses it too.
The first thing: many thanks for the great update! :-)
I had watched the mailings here only.
I do not really understand, what is a shared or dedicated account, but one thing is very important for us: The use of normal EMail account as a Chat!
And DeltaChat works very good and fast.
<<< Chat with everybody - This is the innovation >>>
If DeltaChat were worked with its own account, we were not here (Messenger like WA, Viber, ... do it too, and xmpp work with its own Servers too).
There already some tries in this way with Apps like Meldmail, Koalachat, EmailMessenger and some other ... but there are not so comfortable and good as DeltaChat.
A little idea: People who uses normal EMail does often not understand, if they receive messages about changes in Groups (e.g. Group-Pictures) - there will be nice a switch to activate or deactivate this feature.
Many thanks for the Work and best regards

wednesday, 27th Feb some Delta Chat folks are offering
insights and sessions on current developments in Freiburg (DE),
see here fore the german announcement:
https://devsmeetup.de/
We also plan to do a similar session in Kyiv, Ukraine --
but there embedded in a full-week contributor gathering including
UX tests, gaming on public streets and other experiments -- we are
currently settling the timing for Kyiv: April 23th till April 30th.
You can also participate part of the time.
There are google play beta release works, you can already use it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=chat.delta&ah=KK20-qUmCsjqdZY…
and Bjoern is also playing with making it easier to use gmail
accounts ... stay tuned :)
treefit wrote a simple DeltaChat/IRC bot -- drop to #deltachat IRC
and ask about it if you want to try using it -- the bridge works
quite well already.

I also use both in parallel. Just rename the lonk buttom of one so you can differ them.Am 13.02.2019 02:06 schrieb adb <adbenitez(a)nauta.cu>:

the localization lab from otf just published some key-take aways
from a deeper engagement with translators ("translation sprints")
that they were doing for signal and they also note limitations
