could you retest with 1.12.5 (current playstore version)?
Do the imap server processes never go away?
Is the Android client stably connected to network or
dropping on and off?
In the latter case it is the job of the imap server to drop
the connections because the app has been killed and has no
knowledge anymore of the connection itself.
thanks for bringing this to our attention -- it could hint
to a problem but it's not clear there is one on DC's side yet.
Also we didn't hear of this problem and many people have
limits on number of IMAP-connections. Btw IMAP is only used
for receiving messages. Mails are sent out via SMTP which
is an independent protocol.
