Hi Bjoern,
Sailfish OS has a own store called "Jolla Store". Is shipped with the
installation by default. And yes, there are also Android apps allowed.
Also there is a third party store called "Open Repos"
But there is no Android app only native Linux
mobile apps.
At the DC forum I've posted a feature proposal about a native mobile
Linux app in future. It's because a growing number of distros jumping
on mobile. There we currently have Postmarked OS, Manjaro, UBPorts, KDE
mobile, Purism, Sailfish OS. So it can be a good idea to think about to
work outside of a Android emulation like Alien Dalvik or Anbox.
Also Google creates more pressure on the AOSP project. SafetyNet,
PlayServices (Gapps) and many more extensions are needed by the apps to
run on Android. So we see a slowly dying of the Android Open Source
Kernel.
Currently the F-droid store is the only safe harbor. All other apps are
gambling if they work or not.
Hope I was able to show my position why it can be important to have
native apps for mobile Linux in near future. :-)

hi Martin,
thank you for your post.
it is good to know, that Delta Chat Android also runs on a Jolla
Phone with Sailfish OS - in fact, i did not know that :)
is there an app store or sth. like that?
however, of course, we are interesting in keeping the current state,
however, as far as i know, no one of the devs have a Sailfish OS nor
is it tested somehow - so, if you notice some arising problems,
please let us know. to find out potential problems before new
versions are released, you can also join our Testing Group (a Delta
Chat group :) - please just let me know, if you are interested.
alternatively, we usually also inform about testing released on IRC
#deltachat (i know, it would be good if that happens also here or in
the forum, however, in the past, it did not :)

Greetings to the list,
first but not least: A great many thanks for this great masterpiece
ofsoftware - Chapeau!
I am very grateful that this software runs on my Jolla 1
phone(manufactured 2014, running Sailfish OS (
https://sailfishos.org/) withandroid support. It would be great if
you keep it this way, keeping the needed AndroidAPI version the way
it is...This way it is not necessary to have a native Sailfish OS
client.Everything works as expected, fully satisfied!
Keep up the good work!
