There is no preference:

F-Droid builds the releases itself, we don't have a direct influence on that. It can take a few days until the build happens, because of limitations with their server.

Google Play rolls out new versions over the course of one week.

The most recent version is also always available as apk, you can download it from https://download.delta.chat/android/ - technically, it's the same apk we upload to Google Play.

Good to know:

I had a terrible experience with Delta on F-droid after the 0.5 -> 1.0
big update back in December and quite a few problems in getting back on
track with it (I even tried a downgrade which failed).

I had to resort to change store entirely.

Is either one of the two stores a "preferred" one to which you push the
release or will F-droid continue to receive timely updates from now ?

Because as things are now I don't see major reasons to come back on
F-droid for Delta.
