Hey Marko,

Great to hear that the latest version worked for you. We plan to have the backup feature completed before the end of the year (or even sooner!) Keep an eye on this issue for developments:

Hi Leon,

the error has something to do with a missing file at .js

I believe there is a missing file because Elementary Linux is very minimal in installation.

Yesterday I've tried the recent .deb file. The installation works like a charm, no problems here. As I start the desktop client I was missing the backup re-deploy feature. But the desktop client works now.

This sounds like this issue https://github.com/deltachat/deltachat-desktop/issues/283 but should be fixed. At least i cant reproduce it currently. Can you try it again (delete/rename ~/.config/DeltaChat) and tell us about it?

Regards Leon

Hello Holger,

Elementary is fast lightweighted and the GUI is nice polished. But the beauty contest will win Deepin Linux :)

My email is hosted at the /e/ foundation. They develop the new eelo Android OS. I was a first hour supporter of these project, so I get my own mail.

I will try a deb file with gdebi next time.
